Learn the basics of needle felting, meet the farms rare breed sheep and learn about the different varieties of wool available in the UK.

This class is Run by Jane Firth, Ullswater Felt Art. Jane is a fantastic teacher and Artist inspired by her surrounding and the beautiful animals of the Lake District. Jane loves to see the individual artwork develop through the session.

 
Take away your own unique creation having learnt the skills to continue to add to your masterpiece or gain the confidence to start another masterpiece in the future! 

Morning session:Meet the sheep, learn the basic techniques, about the way different types of wool behave and start your picture.
Afternoon session: complete your piece. Please bring ideas or pictures for inspiration but nothing too complicated. This is a landscape beginners class so please bring a landscape photo to work from. Don't panic if you don't have one, we always keep spares.

THE DETAILS

All material will be provided, if you have some of your own fleece you wish to use please do bring it along. Make sure you choose a picture with your fleece colour in it though!

This workshop will take place in our lambing barn. Please wear suitable clothing as heating is limited, plenty of hot drinks will be on offer to keep everyone toasty. A warm coat is advised. Please also be advised that the short walk from the car park to the barn is on a grassy track. Seating in the lambing barn is on metal seats, please feel free to bring your own cushion if it will make you more comfortable. Please note to access the toilets there are 3 small steps.

Your ticket includes all materials, lunch & tea, coffee.
